Choosing the Right Movie Organizer For You

In these stressful and chaotic times, any way you can find to organize your life is a good thing. But sometimes, you focus so much on organizing your work messes and your kitchen messes that your entertainment collection might get neglected. However, with the right movie organizer, you could not only organize the things you love, but you can also include your satisfaction with the movies you have purchased. And that can help you feel better about your stress levels, even decreasing them as you begin to see just how many good movies you own – and which ones could help you feel better about the chaos that may be your life right now.

What Kind of Organizational Style Do You Have?

Many people just don’t have the time to get organized, while others make the time to be organized on a daily basis. Where does your organizational style fall? If you’re someone that likes to be highly organized, you might want to choose a movie organizer that is catering to all of the details you want to organize in your collection – like a software program which organizes movies by even the most minute of details. But if you like to organize by larger categories, you might want to look into something like a physical organizer in which to place all of your Horror movies or Science Fiction movies, etc. Of course, software movie organizer can also help you organize in larger categories – and with all of the downloaded movies which are now available, a software program can be a great way to not only organize your movies, but also to keep track of them on your hard drive – where they can easily be lost or misplaced.

How Much Time Do You Have to Spare?

Right now, it might not feel like you have a lot of time to spare. And that’s the norm right now, isn’t it? So, you need to keep this time factor in mind when you choose a movie organizer. If you don’t have hours to spend on inputting movies into a program, you might want to avoid more complicated movie organizer software. But if you can commit to one weekend of inputting movies into the program, it can be well worth your time. However, you may also be able to take 15 minutes a day to input a few movies at a time, eventually filling up the program with your movie titles – without cutting into your days too much.

The right movie organizer is one that caters to your needs when it comes to feeling organized. If you feel organized by having a database of movies on your computer, including a list of the movies you own, then a software program can be helpful. But if you only own a few movies and you don’t plan on getting more, it might just be a matter of buying a movie organizer rack and placing it next to the DVD player. Of course, as you buy more movies, you might need to expand your organization system.

Film Producers Need a Talented Screenwriter to Turn a Movie Idea Into Gold

A movie idea without a screenwriter to shape it is like jumping out of a plane naked without any gear. SPALT! Not every movie director and producer can write a screenplay. There are many that have no interest in writing one. They know their own entertainment strengths and focus on those skills. So a movie idea needs a scribe to breathe life into it. CREATION!

There are many talented aspiring screenwriters out there, probably right in your own community that can turn your movie idea into a script you can produce or direct that will make money for film investors. The number of writers that earn their living plying their craft is extremely small, including members of the WGA (Writers Guild of America). Think of it like acting as a career. For every actor that earns millions how many other actors earn enough to pay their living expenses without having a regular side gig that pays the monthly bills?

The movie idea you have could be that career making writing gig that gets a writer noticed or at the very least they will have earned a writing credit on a released film that gets seen by viewers and career makers. Earning a writing credit on a movie that is eventually released is not easy at all. There are thousands upon thousands of scripts that never are produced into a full-length feature film. These scripts quietly collect dust in a writer’s closets. I freely admit I have two earlier scripts I wrote on spec that are slowly decaying in a closet never to be heard of again. Damn The Roach! Damn Land Pirates!

This is where a motivated person with a great movie idea finds a way to move from idea to finished screenplay. It’s strange for me to write this for readers, but movie producers are greatly underrated in what they bring to a film. There are so many producer credits that are given it’s diluted what the role of a kick-ass movie producer is. Some people get a producer credit on a movie because they are a friend of the star, the director, or niece of one the money backers.

But there are always those producers in the trenches that have to find and hire a screenwriter to make movie successful. Depending on size of a production budget a producer can reach out to A List screenwriters through agents and managers. Movie producers dealing with an independent movie budget can go a different path. They can visit local colleges that have writing programs for film or cinema.

Meet with professors to ask if they could recommend the brightest from their program to turn a movie idea into a screenplay based on certain budget. Colleges like their students to gain real world experience. That’s why internships exist in the first place. Who would work free if not to gain experience

Twilight: Top Movie Review

Love could not get more complicated than a girl falling for a vampire who craves for her blood. Based on the bestselling novel by Stephanie Mayer, Twilight is not just a love story; it is a twisted tale of beauty and the retrained beast.

Bella Swan relocated to Washington to her father and becomes the ‘shiny toy’ every guy wants save for one, but he is not a regular boy. Camouflaging as a 17 year old, Edward Cullen is the vampire next door trying not to be the blood-sucking monster by adopting vegetarianism, i.e. feeding on animal blood. The story is about Bella’s lack of self-preservation and Edward’s masochism. This forbidden love story takes a new twist when enters the not-so-good sadistic vampire James who vows to kill Bella.

In the movie, Bella was played by Kristen Stewart, star of many top 10 movies and British actor Robert Pattinson, became the on-screen vampire. Pattinson, who also played a small part in one of the Harry Potter movies, did not stand up to the expectations. Portraying the same expression, he stood tall and looked pretty. Stewart was no different on the screen; safe to say that the two suited each other. As for the other characters, Billy Burke, star of many top rated movies, who brought the character of Bella’s father Chief Swan to the audience did a commendable job. Peter Facinelli and Taylor Lautner were also appreciated for their parts in the movie as Dr. Carlisle Cullen and Jacob Black respectively. Nonetheless, the movie, soon to be among the top movies, is a super hit among the teenagers who are awestruck by the magic of the forbidden love. Stephanie Mayer gets all the credit for the success of the movie because it is just the story that stands out with the youth- rational or not. There is definitely some action – a fight scene between James and Edward, accidents and climbing trees and a fascinating ball game. Just the thunder ball is worth watching Twilight, besides Robert Pattinson of course.

The music, as in all top rated movies, in the movie is yet another factor hooking the audiences. From “Full Moon” by The Black Ghosts, who have composed for some of the top movies, to the romantic prom number “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” by Iron and Wine keeps the flow of the movie. The musical actor Robert Pattinson compiled and sang “Never Think” for the movie. Bella’s Lullaby which was also a dominating point in the book is a soft melody touching hearts of everyone.

Despite the passable performance of the actors, Summit Entertainment, makers of

A History Of Horror Movies Online To Enjoy

Sometimes turning to the net for a film is great idea. If you are looking for horror movies online, you’re going to be in for a thrilling surprise. No matter what your scary desire is, you are bound to find a movie to suit your taste. The internet is slowly but surely becoming the premier destination to watch movies, the reason being the limitless selection. This is definitely the case with regard to to the horror genre.

There is something about being scared that we really enjoy. Not always of course in reality though, but there is something thrilling about being on the edge of your seat throughout a story. People tell scary stories around campfires or when the power goes out and the house is dark, these stories work best when we seem vulnerable. A classic book like Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein even has its roots in this type of story telling. It was during terrible storms in Switzerland that she was cooped up inside with her husband and Lord Byron. They would sit around the fire reading German ghost stories, which gave Byron the idea that they should each write their own supernatural tale.

The history of the horror movie is almost as old as cinema itself, George Melies directed the short silent film La Manoir du Diable in 1896. This vampire movie was only two minutes long, but it was loved by audiences. For the next thirty or so years it would mainly be German filmmakers who dabbled in horror, with 1922’s Nosferatu by F. W. Murnau, the first feature-length vampire movie and Robert Wiene’s The Cabinet of Dr Cagliari the most memorable.

By the time the 1930’s started, Hollywood had joined the scaring game, and so began the era of Dracula, Frankenstein and The Mummy. Actors like Lon Chaney, Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi became household names in these films and their many sequels. By the 1950’s the horror genre added aliens into the mix and the genre continued to evolve. There were film studios that were making horror movies exclusively and we began to a see a slew of low budget shock cinema.

What is significant is that many of the movies from this generation are actually available to watch online. Whether it be Invasion of the Body Snatchers, or Christopher Lee as Dracula, a number of online movie sites offer a huge range of these classic films. For the film buff the net is a treasure chest, with the ability to movies that are almost impossible to rent in video stores.

The modern generation of horrors began to evolve in the 1960’s and 70’s with classics like Hitchock’s The Birds and Psycho and Rosemary’s Baby and in 1973 The Exorcist became the highest grossing horror movie ever. And then in 1975 Jaws made by the young Spielberg became the highest grossing film of all time. On the the other side of the scale, independent movies like Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead began a sub-culture of horror films that would lead to movie franchises today like Saw and Hostel.

Of course the seventies and eighties also saw the introduction of Horror legends lik

Maximizing ELA Classroom Benefits From Movie Worksheets

The class is excited and the DVD cued up, but what about a movie worksheet to keep the class focused during the film? We want teachers to feel 100% comfortable about using both the right movie and the best movie worksheet, so here are some suggestions on how to get the most out of film study worksheets. (Choosing the right movie is still the most important step in creating an exciting lesson based on film. Don’t compromise on quality! The movie should be a work of art that will inspire students and extend their horizons.)

Movie worksheets should be reviewed carefully before they are used.

    • Are there any questions that the students won’t understand?

    • Are there a few more questions that need to be added?

    • Does the movie worksheet hit all the pedagogical points that need to be made to maximize the benefit students get from the film?

    • Is it the right length and level of sophistication for the class?

  • Does it fit with the movie?

Adjust the worksheet as needed to challenge, but not overwhelm, your students.

When using a generic movie worksheet, delete or substitute questions that don’t have a place in the curriculum. For example, three generic movie worksheets are:

    • one for ELA classes generally;

    • another for analyzing a story using the paradigm of the Hero’s Journey;

  • and a third for historical fiction.

Saving paper helps the environment but it’s hard to do in a classroom situation. If feasible make only enough copies of the worksheet to produce a class set to be used and then handed back when class is over. When making enough copies to give one to each student, make sure that the worksheet can be copied on both sides of one sheet of paper.

Before the movie begins…

Review the worksheet with the class so that the students know what to look for as they watch the movie. Discourage students from making notes while the movie is running; they may miss something important. Stop the film for about three to five minutes on a few occasions to give students time to quickly jot down their notes. After the movie is finished, give the class a modest chunk of time to complete the movie worksheet.

There are a variety of things that can be done with movie worksheets after the film is finished. Students’ raw notes can be handed in and either graded or simply checked for completion. Answers to the prompts on the worksh

American Movies Centered On Cars

Why are cars so important to the American narrative? Perhaps because America was built on travel: the voyage from the homeland to the land of opportunity; the trek across the vast, unexplored land, creating new settlements and new opportunities along the way. Building roads of steel and asphalt to encourage and speed the westward push. People travelled across America first by horse, then by train, and eventually by automobile.

As modes of transportation, cars have unique traits that make them so much more attractive than many other methods of travel:

* Cars in the USA are accessible. Nearly everyone can afford to own a car.

* Motor vehicles let people travel where and when they want to.

* A car does not have to be shared with anyone else if the driver so chooses. It becomes a personal space, allowing people to travel in comfort and solitude.

* Automobiles confer status on their owners. They can be an outward representation of the owners’ personalities. Fast, sporty cars, family vans, or luxury sedans all create an image in our minds about the drivers.

Cars have truly become an extension of self. It’s no wonder Americans were quick to embrace the car as a symbol of freedom and choice.

Movies are as much a part of American culture as cars. Movies function to show us what life is like, or what it could be like. They epitomize freedom and possibility, just as cars do. It seems only fitting that movies and cars should come together to create entertainment. A look at American films show just how enmeshed in the movies cars really are.

Many movies resonate with viewers because of the cars they feature. In “American Graffiti” (1973) a 1932 Ford coupe, a 1955 Chevy, a 1958 Chevy Impala, a 1951 Mercury coupe, and a 1956 Ford Thunderbird are all part of a special night of car cruising for a group of high school friends. This movie also depicts another strong element of American car culture, the teenage driver.

Getting a driver’s license at the age of sixteen has become a rite of passage for American youth. The ability to drive and to express their identity through their cars has anchored the car as a symbol of freedom for teenagers. This teenage freedom has been documented in film after film, “American Graffiti” being just one fine example. Another in this genre is “Grease” (1978).

Car movies can be categorized by the role that the car plays in the film. There are movies that, while not actually about cars, contain vivid scenes where cars are essential to the story. In “Back to the Future” (1985) a 1981 DeLorean is the time-travel machine. What would Batman (“Batman Begins” 2005) be without the Batmobile, or “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (1986) without the Ferrari belonging to Cameron’s father? “Heart Like a Wheel” (1983), about racing car driver Shirley Muldowney, adds romance to the mix. In a more recent movie, “Drive” starring Ryan Gosling, the main character is a driver-he drives stunt cars in movies and getaway cars in robberies.

To truly be considered a car movie, however, the plot must revolve around the cars in it. Some not-to-be-missed car movies are:

* “Le Mans” (1971), which stars a Porsche 917 and a Ferrari 512S (an

Seven Ways to Choose Perfect Date Night Movies

Dinner and a movie has been the standard and preferred first date since your parents, and their parents went on dates. Catching a flick at your local theater is a great way to unwind, spend quality time with someone, and take in fun and unique stories told on the screen. With so many movies coming out constantly, and the time from theatrical release to DVD shortening, it can be hard to keep up and see everything you want. As if selecting which movies to pick out and actually see wasn’t enough, when it is for a date the decision can be that much more crucial. Here are seven ways to choose perfect date night movies.

1. Determine some previous movies your date enjoys

During regular conversations, pay attention to what things your date enjoys. This could give you vital clues to the type of movies they may enjoy. When discussing previous flicks you’ve seen, think about what they say are there favorite and least favorite and try to either choose or avoid new releases appropriately. You can often times select the right flick to watch if you listen closely to what your date has enjoyed in the past.

2. Find similar movies

If you already have a short list of your date’s favorite movies, hop online and do some research on similar movies. You can pick ones directed by the same director, some that have similar casts, similar premises, or ones that are even in the same genre. Today, super heroes tend to have “universes” or imaginary worlds at the center of many different films and diverse story lines.

3. Try a movie that merges genres together

As a compromise, if your tastes differ from your date’s, you may be able to compromise by selecting a movie that successfully blends both genres together. For example, if you enjoy horror, and your date prefers comedy, a dark comedy may do the trick. Rom com vs action? There are movies full of action that successfully blend romance and humor. There is something for everyone when you compromise in this manner.

4. Pick a sequel or prequel

A good sequel and prequel is a great way to see a new movie that you know your date will love. Prequels are becoming

Learn to Play Blackjack

The game of blackjack, one of the most popular casino card games, is played by millions of people worldwide. People play blackjack in tournaments, in live casinos and even on the Internet. If you are interested in starting to play casino blackjack it’s easy to learn blackjack rules.

If you want to learn how to play blackjack you first need to understand what you have to do in order to win. The game of blackjack is played against the dealer and you win by obtaining a hand that is worth a higher value than the dealer’s hand, without breaking 21. If you break 21 in blackjack this is known as busting and you lose the game.

In the blackjack game hand values are determined by adding together all of the cards in your hand. Cards that are numbered from 2 through 10 are worth their face value in points. For instance, a 5-card is worth five points. Jacks, Queens and Kings are worth ten points and Aces are worth either one point or ten points, you decide based on what works best for your hand.

The game of blackjack begins with blackjack betting. Before any cards are dealt you place your bet. Once bets are placed the blackjack dealer deals two cards out to each player, placing them face up on the table. The blackjack dealer takes two cards as well but places one face up and the other face down. Based on your cards and the dealer’s exposed card you must decide to stand, hit, split or double down. When you stand in blackjack you are admitting satisfaction with your cards and are keeping your current hand. When you hit the dealer gives you additional cards in order to increase the value of your hand. Just beware when you hit-remember that you cannot break 21. More advanced players play with splitting and doubling. You may choose to split your initial 2-card hand into two separate hands and play them separately. You may also choose to double your bet on your initial 2-card hand. If you double then you will receive one additional card.
